This Policy Brief attempts a first assessment of the macroeconomic impact of the Pandemic and the policy responses taken by the US and the EU. It appears that global cooperation and coordination remain far from what would be adequate and necessary, both at the global level as well as in the EU and euro-area. The paper shows why and what should be done, both at the EU and at the global multilateral levels.
