This conference is one of the main Conferences of the Jean Monnet Project that the Interdisciplinary Institute for Relations between Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean (IRELAC) has developed in cooperation with the IAI, the Instituto de Relações Internacionais of the Universidade de São Paulo and a number of other academic institutions and think thanks from EU member countries.
By bringing together experts, journalists and academicians from both European and Latin American countries, the conference will focus on the main features of the economic and political crises affecting both European member states and Latin America, with the aim of highlighting paths for increasing regional cooperation.
The main topics will be:
- Economic Crisis and the Quest for Prosperity in the EU and Latin America
- Political crises, the rise of populism and the challenges to democracy in the EU and Latin America
